I think TheBrainintheJar's definition of wasted time is quite okay. Besides that, I don't think anyone could really define what is "wasted time". It's alright, if it doesn't make you guilty later on. It depends what you want out of life, invest in the things that are important to you, but know that being good at anything means making yourself do things you don't want to do.

Working out isn't always fun, playing scales over and over isn't always fun, I don't always want to sit down and write several pages, but I know it will be worth it so I do it anyway. In order for me to be happy with my life, I need to spend a lot of time doing things I don't necessarily enjoy. You can also do both at once, investing in your mind by reading a book, or investing in your body by doing an athletic activity you enjoy. Your goal might be to spend the rest of your life idling the days away, but getting to that position would require significant investment. "Am I currently happy?" And "Am I happy with my life up to this point?" The one that is more important to you will tell you how valuable relaxation, entertainment, and instant gratification are. Of course, you do need time to relax and instant gratification is acceptable to a certain degree, but quote that bernkastel alt "the greater the relaxation, the more detrimental to the man."
